Alana Romans, Director, Strategic Initiatives, received $568,689 from the US Department of the Treasury through La Plata County Economic Development Alliance for the Project RUN certificate program – Opportunity Now Colorado.

Kendra Gallegos Reichle, Director, Student Well-Being, received $99,193 from the Department of Health and Human Services – Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration Center for Mental Health Services (SAMHSA) for the “FLC Suicide and Substance Use Prevention project.”

Dr. Jonathan Harvey, Associate Professor, Geosciences, received $14,988 from The Nature Conservancy for the “2023 Dolores River Adaptive Management Support project.” 

Dr. Veronika Furst, Professor, Mathematics, received $218,502 from the National Science Foundation for the “PRIMES: The Inverse Eigenvalue Problem for Graphs and Collaboration to Promote Inclusivity in Undergraduate Mathematics Education.” 

Bryant Liggett, Station Manager, KDUR, received $3,000 from the Gill Foundation through the Gay & Lesbian Fund for Colorado to recognize and support KDUR and its work. 

Mary Shepherd, Director, Small Business Development Center, received $5,000 from the Colorado Office of Economic Development and International Trade (OEDIT) to provide Leading Edge strategic planning and startup courses. 

Dr. Jeffrey McFarlane, Assistant Professor, Chemistry, received $94,530 from the National Institutes of Health, SuRE FIRST program, supplemental funding for “Stopped-flow spectrometer for analysis of reaction kinetics project.”

Dr. Laurie Williams, Professor, Physics and Engineering, received $100,000 from the US Department of Energy for the “Navajo Nation Solar Initiative – Energizing Rural Communities Prize.”

Dr. Mark Boespflug, Assistant Professor, Philosophy, received $74,244 from the University of St. Thomas for the “Psychology and Theology of Faith project.” 

Marya Corrigan, Director, TRIO Programs-Upward Bound, received $3,003 from the Colorado Department of Education for the “Colorado Summer Food Service Program 2023.”
